KUALA LUMPUR, 25 November 2025 – Profesor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq bin Haji Hameed Sultan, Director of the UPM Press Centre, has been named ASEAN Book Excellence Laureate at the prestigious ASEAN International Book Award, held at the Taming Sari Grand Ballroom, Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur. The award honours his role in advancing scholarly publishing and elevating the standard of academic publications. Under his leadership, UPM has emerged as a prominent institution within the ASEAN academic publishing landscape. The award ceremony convened leading publishers, scholars, and industry stakeholders from across the region, highlighting the value of knowledge collaboration in enriching the academic publishing ecosystem.
