SERDANG, 13 August 2026 – Universiti Putra Malaysia Press, in collaboration with Yayasan Generasi Malaysia (YGM) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), is exploring the proposed implementation of the “One Police Officer, One Book” initiative to encourage and strengthen a culture of writing and documenting knowledge among police personnel.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting at UPM Press, focusing on the publication of works that capture the experiences, expertise, knowledge and perspectives of PDRM personnel from various departments. The initiative could bring together a range of works, including professional writings, biographies, memoirs, as well as accounts of policing duties and experiences.

Through this platform, PDRM community would have the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise in areas such as security, criminal investigation, law enforcement, leadership, integrity, community safety, crisis management and technology. Documenting these experiences and knowledge would help enrich the collection of publications on policing while providing a valuable source of knowledge and reference for future generations.

This collaboration also strengthens the strategic relationship between UPM Press and PDRM in producing high-quality publications that carry academic, professional and historical value.
