The UPM Press Centre had organised The PERTANIKA Knowledge Exchange Workshop 2025 on 22 December 2025 at Auditorium Rashdan Baba, Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The objectives of the workshop is to share knowledge on good research and honest academic writing, guide participants in publishing articles in high-impact journals, provide insights into ethical publishing practices, and create a platform for interaction among authors, editors, and reviewers.
The workshop, which was attended around almost eighty participants from universities all around Malaysia, was officiated with an opening address by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Putra Malaysia, YBhg. Profesor Dr. Zamberi Sekawi. He highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange, research integrity, and high-quality academic publishing in his speech.
The first keynote address was delivered by Dr. Puvaneswaren Kunasekaran, Editor-in-Chief of Pertanika Journal of Social Sciences & Humanities (PJSSH). The session focussed on publishing in top-tier journals, including practical tips and opportunities for authors.
The second keynote session was presented by Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan, Editor-in-Chief of Pertanika Journal of Tropical Agricultural Science (PJTAS), who shared insights on crafting high-impact review articles and effective academic writing strategies.
In the afternoon, the third keynote session was conducted by Professor Dr. Luqman Chuah Abdullah, Editor-in-Chief of Pertanika Journal of Science & Technology (PJST). The session emphasised writing and publishing research articles in high-impact journals, particularly within the sciences and technology domains.
The workshop was concluded with a final session delivered by the Head of Section of Pertanika Journal Publication and Editorial, who provided comprehensive submission guidance for Pertanika Journals, Proceedings, and Book Chapters. This session also covered manuscript preparation, submission procedures, and the peer-review process, offering valuable practical guidance to prospective authors.
