SERDANG, 16 April 2026 – UPM Press (PUPM) organised a retirement ceremony to honour Puan Sahariah Abdul Rahim @ Ibrahim, who concluded her service after 33 years of dedication to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The event, themed “Pengantin Ibu” (Mother Bride), was held in a festive atmosphere as Puan Sahariah was escorted in a specially decorated buggy,while a drone recorded the journey to the venue. Upon arrival, the ceremony continued with a retirement gimmick featuring a balloon-popping session and the unveiling of a special retirement banner. A canvas-signing session was also held, allowing PUPM staff to leave messages and signatures as a memorable keepsake.

Puan Sahariah was then accompanied by a traditional kompang performance as she made her way to the banquet hall. During the ceremony, the Director of PUPM, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan (FASc), delivered an appreciation speech, acknowledging her contributions and commitment throughout her years of service.

Guests were also treated to a video montage showcasing highlights of Puan Sahariah’s career and cherished memories during her time at PUPM. As a token of appreciation, she received various gifts from the management and PUPM staff.

The ceremony served as a symbol of gratitude and recognition for her dedication and significant contributions throughout her service to UPM and PUPM.
