19 May 2026, Serdang – The Publishing Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully conducted the Internal Audit of the MS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), which took place over two days from 18 to 19 May 2026.

The audit aimed to assess the Publishing Centre’s compliance with established standards, procedures, work instructions, guidelines, regulations, and circulars. In addition, it served as a platform for gathering input and recommendations for improvement, while ensuring the Publishing Centre’s readiness for the full audit by SIRIM scheduled for August 2026.

The audit session was led by Dr. Suhyna Mohamad Sulaiman from the University Health Centre in her capacity as Chief Internal Auditor, assisted by five PTJ Auditors to ensure that the scope review was conducted thoroughly. Meanwhile, the Audit Opening and Closing Meetings were chaired by the Director of the Publishing Centre, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Haji Hameed Sultan, FASc., and attended by both Deputy Directors as well as the respective Heads of Section.

Overall, Dr. Suhyna Mohamad Sulaiman expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the QMS at the Publishing Centre. She provided positive feedback, particularly on the Director’s clear input to the strategic plan and the direction of the Publishing Centre. She also commended the dedication and strong commitment demonstrated by all staff members throughout the audit process. All remarks and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) raised during the audit will be acted upon promptly to strengthen the Publishing Centre’s operations further and ensure that it continues to perform at the highest standard.
