Serdang, 3 December 2024 – A book review meeting for a book entitled “Perisai Perairan Negara: Keunggulan dan Dedikasi Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia” had been held at the UPM Press Centre Meeting Room. The meeting, which was attended by both staff from the Corporate Communication Unit of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and UPM Press Centre, focussed on the design and concept of the book.
This book is planned to be published as an initiative to document achievements, dedication, and history of APMM in managing maritime enforcement tasks, carrying out coastal and air surveillance of Malaysian waters, and performing maritime search and rescue ever since its inception. It is also planned to portray the professionalism and high commitment of APMM staff in protecting the Malaysian Maritime Zone.
This review meeting also focussed on improving the contents of the book which included the layout, technicality, history narrative flow, and its visuals. The portrayal of APMM strategic values, operational achievements, and obstructions faced by the maritime agency in ensuring the safety and security of Malaysian waters were also discussed.
The Director of the APMM Corporate Communication Unit also emphasised the importance of this book as a communication medium to the public in understanding the roles and functions of APMM.
This book is planned to be published in February 2025 and will be launched in an official event plan to be organised by APMM. The meeting had carved its own history in ensuring “Perisai Perairan Negara: Keunggulan dan Dedikasi Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia” would be a comprehensive and quality piece of artwork in portraying a patriotic message to the public about this valuable asset of the nation - Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
