KUALA LUMPUR - A book published by UPM Press, Pembangunan Kontemporari Orang Asli by Sarjit S. Gill and Mohd Roslan Rosnon (Editors) won the National Book Award 2019 for Best General Book Category (Community/ Social Science) on 1st April 2019.
Winners received plaque and certificate presented by the Minister of Federal Territories, YB Tuan Haji Khalid bin Abd. Samad at the National Book Award function 2019 held at Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event was also attended by Puan Kamariah Mohd Saidin, the Head of UPM Press.
The National Book Award is an annual event organised by the National Book Development Foundation (YPBN). This award aims to acknowledge and appreciate local writers. It also tries to cultivate a positive outlook and encourages writers, publishers, editors and designers nationwide.
Pembangunan Kontemporari Orang Asli priced at RM48.00 can directly be purchased at UPM Press or can be bought online (www.upmpress.com.my). Currently, purchases can also be made at the Reruai MAPIM, Tun Razak 3 Hall, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2019 that takes place from 29th March until 7th April 2019.
