SERDANG, 16 July – UPM Press hosted a visit from a regional delegation of nine academics and international students from China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
The visit, held as part of a strategic engagement, aimed to strengthen collaborative networks in academic publishing and research, particularly in the fields of design and architecture. As part of efforts to expand regional academic partnerships, UPM Press and the visiting delegation outlined several smart collaboration initiatives. These include the publication of Scopus-indexed academic books and the organisation of scientific journal publishing workshops.
Such initiatives not only pave the way for the generation of high-impact scholarly work but also enhance international recognition of academic research and publications from the region.
During the visit, UPM Press Deputy Director Dr. Puvaneswaran a/l Kunasekaran welcomed the delegates with a guided tour of the UPM Press Bookstore, followed by a brief sharing session on the academic publishing process and services offered by the press. He also introduced one of UPM Press’s Thesis-to-Book Publishing Transformation Programme, a key initiative which has been held annually since 2022. The programme received strong interest from the delegates and led to discussions on planning a collaborative publishing programme as a continuation of the regional academic partnership.
