On 23 April 2020, Kuala Lumpur has been announced as the UNESCO 2020 World Book Capital in conjunction with the World Book and Copy Right Day.

Thus, the Yayasan Pembangunan Buku Negara (YPBN) with UPM Press Centre are organising the Persidangan Industri Kreatif Kebangsaan (PIKK) 2021, Anugerah Buku Negara and Anugerah Telenovela 2020-2021 on 7 - 8 April 2021 at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, PWTC, Kuala Lumpur.

In this three-day event, there are three main events of UPM, i.e. an MoU Signing Ceremony between UPM and YPBN, and two pre-launch books by Prof. Vijayaletchumy Subramaniam from the Faculty of Modern Languages & Communication UPM, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Izani Mohd. Zain from Faculty of Human Ecology /Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations published by the UPM Press Centre.

The MoU signing ceremony will be witnessed by the Higher Education Minister, YB Dato' Seri Dr. Noraini binti Ahmad and she will be also launching the two books with other guest of honours and UPM officers.
