AYER KEROH, 30 March – The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), YBhg. Dato’ Sri Jailani Johari was awarded the Anugerah Khas Perdana (Tokoh Penggerak Masyarakat) in conjunction with the Majlis Penyampaian Anugerah Tokoh Masyarakat dan NGO Malaysia (Malaysian Community Figure and NGO Awards Ceremony) held at Hotel Ames, Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

The award ceremony was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.

In the same ceremony, Tun Dr. Mohd Ali also witnessed the launch of two new books published by the UPM Press. The publications are Kemiskinan Bukan untuk Diwarisi by the Director of UPM Press, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan, and Community Development: Theory, Values and Practices by the Deputy Director of UPM Press, Dr. Puvaneswaran Kunasekaran.

The ceremony, which was also attended by both authors, serves as a manifestation of UPM’s continuous commitment to contributing expertise, rendering service, and sustaining a culture of knowledge for society.
